Who We Are
The Washington Apostolic Christian Church is a congregation of the Apostolic Christian Church of America. We are a brotherhood of believers that earnestly seeks to interpret the Bible literally. The teachings of Jesus Christ and his apostles serve as the foundation of our doctrine and guide our members’ daily lives.

We have approximately 90 congregations in the United States, Japan, Mexico and Canada. The strongest concentration of Apostolic Christians is in the Midwest. Total membership is approximately 12,000 with regular attendance of about 22,000.
Although not under the same organizational structure, we do fellowship with many “sister” congregations throughout Europe, where our church was founded. Most of our North American members have Swiss or German backgrounds, which has influenced our culture in many ways.
Our denomination origin does not date all the way back to the Radical Reformation, but our founder, Samuel Froehlich, was influenced by the Sixteenth Century Anabaptists, whose doctrinal motto was "Sola Scriptura." This meant that Scriptures alone constituted the basis for doctrine and life - and they were to be followed.
We regard the entire Word as infallible and inerrant and have endeavored over the years to diligently follow New Testament teachings.
In Europe, the church was known as Evangelical Baptist. It later became known as Apostolic Christian in America. This name was chosen because the church follows the teachings of Christ and the Apostles.
